The cycling week annually attracts 20,000-25,000 participants and 60,000-80,000 visitors from all over Sweden and large parts of the world. The largest nations after Sweden are Germany, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and the United Kingdom, in that order. Vätternrundan has been around since 1966 and was started as a public health initiative. The goal of contributing to better public health is still alive today, and the commitment is greater than ever. In 2023, the events had a media reach of 220 million contact points.
